I was just wondering how many times a year do people go to track days as they can be pretty expensive.

I used to aim for one a month.

In the winter, I tend to do a lot while they are cheap and slow down a little bit in the summer while they are expensive.

Also aim to average one trackday / test day or race per month. Work, mechanical issues or other plans clashing with dates usually the prohibiting factor.

I only seem to manage 3 a year. Having no roof, I'm at the mercy of the weather, so have to book close to the day which limits me somewhat.
Probably just as well, because as you say, it's not a cheap pursuit.

I try and do 1 a month between April and October/November. Managed 5 this year which wasn't bad considering I moved house in the middle of it.

The October and November dates were both part wet days which isn't ideal, but it makes for an interesting and memorable day.

Use of special offers etc means you can save money.

I did Bedford in January . 80 quid
Donnington park - 2hr session 75 quid
Day at Curborough - 60 quid
Day at Cadwell - 140 quid
Session at Silverstone - 45 quid

Can't complain for those prices!!!

Have booked snetterton for March

A few a year typically. I'd do more if I could afford it. The cost of the day paid to the TDO is not even the half of it once you factor in travel costs, getting on for £100 in fuel on the day, wear on consumables (thankfully not that bad in my car), insurance, etc.

I too aim for one a month but as previously mentioned the winter days are so cheap it would be a shame not to take advantage of them. That said I have had a few cancelled due to fog and ice which can be a right pain as you cant really recover hotel and commuting costs.

Cadwell wasn't cancelled on Saturday but we didn't get on track until 1030 due to ice and then the day was done by about 3:30-3:45 as light started to fade.... basically it's a good job they are cheap!

Depends on whether the car is behaving or trying her hardest to insult my credit card.

But if I can about 8 to 10 a year.

I only ever seem to manage 1 or 2 a year, then a few of the Silverstone Sunday Service sessions. I'd like to do more, but I have other demands on my spare time and money.

Usually works out 3 - 5 uk days and 2 or 3 three day trips abroad.

3 at Donington this year and 2 three day trips to Aragon and Jerez.

This year I've probably done about 10-12 trackdays recreationally plus (I think) 10 races and probably about 30 days on track instructing.

Nice! Do you all normally go to your closest track mostly or different track each time?

My local is Goodwood so not much fun. I travel as far as Snet in the UK and Ring/Spa abroad.

Must try Anglesey next year though!!

All over for me but being based in the midlands helps, I can do most circuits there and back in one day (not Brands/Goodwood!).

I’m looking for another track car to do more. I have a Porsche GT4 which limits me due to noise limits which is a bit frustrating

Are you running a std exhaust ? I am surprised it exceeds most noise limits and if so, you could cheaply fit a silencer, cheaper than an entire new car I guess.
