As a car club we are trying to find a track where Noise is not an issue. Many of our club cars are putting out well over 100db it seems madness that we can drive our cars on the road but struggle to find a track where we are allowed on.

Are there any tracks left in the UK without restrictions?

Thanks
VOA UK (Viper Owners Association)

Brands Hatch.....No Good
Snetterton .........No Good
Castle combe ....No Good

Would it be worth trying noise-reducing exhaust inserts?

Anglesey. They aren't unlimited but are quite relaxed.

Once did a 'noisy' day at donington. That was (I believe) close to unlimited, and seriously noisy.

Echo above.

Anglesey, Donington ‘noisy’ day, or perhaps try Blyton Park? (though may be too tight for Vipers!)

Exactly - that's the proper way of addressing the issue.

Environmental issues like noise are a totally legitimate concern and if we want to keep out tracks open, we collectively need to be compliant.

Silverstone. Although, are standard road cars really going past the 105db at Snetterton?

Good answer, 100% agree, I know it is not the same as the OPs issue but on my previous track car I deliberately left the exhaust 100% standard (if for a bigger car) to ensure I never had an issue & would never deliberately do different.

Can't understand why there are so many TOO LOUD exhausts out there, the benefits are pretty minimal anyway.

Knockhill. I have never seen any issues with noise at Knockhill and there has been some seriously loud machinery there.

Where are you based OP? Have you considered a hop over to France? Abbeville is only about an hour from the tunnel and we've never seen a noise meter in all the years we've been going biggrin Fun little track and usually cheap as chips, too.

This sounds good, thumbup do you have any links please. Being in the South East, Le mans is actually nearer to me than Scotland!

For the record there are many aftermarket Cat back exhaust systems which owners have purchased from the USA.

The Belanger cat back system, puts a Viper over 110db. The Corsa system is also loud. cloud9

All I am looking for is a Once a year fun track day where we could run our cars on track as a CLUB Event.

I can't see any owner forking out for silencers for a single event.

As already stated Rockingham is a good bet.
They have noise test, 105db from memory but very relaxed as in industrial area and not going to cause concern to residents.

Hmm, Abbeville is a great fun track for Caterhams or Elises etc but, Mark, you'll probably have to do a 3 point turn in yours at the end of the straight biggrin

Croix might be slightly better although still a short circuit. Maybe drop Lotus on Track a mail and see if Paul can advise on any of the other French tracks
