Not sure if this has been posted before, but the locals around the circuit are trying to close it down
Sign the petition here www.petitiononline.com/306007/petition.html to keep it open

This really annoys me. Like noise limits. Castle Coombe has been there longer than most of the locals. If you don;t want to live near a track, don't move there.

It's like people who live near Heathrow and complain they can hear the noise....

The nuisace noise order served to castle combe circuit is only to stop the British F3/GT championships and does ont effect the other meetings, because international events run at 118dba and national and club run at 108dba the locals or nimbys as they are known say 118dba is far to loud.
The circuit has offered to make the cars lower the range to 114dba for that meeting, but as usual that is not good enough. There has only been five complaints anyway!

According to Circuit Driver its twelve residents who have caused the problem. All of whom moved to the area in the full knowledge there was a race track nearby.

Nimbys or what.

Castle Combe has my full support.

I wish I lived in a nice village within walking distance of a lovely race circuit...in a house worth a fortune.

I'd be at the circuit virtually constantly...

Here's a huge contrast for you.

Myself and the wife are on honeymoon in Italy in September 2001. We drive off the Autostrada, and see the sign for "Maranello 5km"

I open the window, and then we hear the noise. As we get closer we see lots of cars parked at the side of the road, so we get out, walk over to the fence, which is at the bottom end of the Fiorano test track, and there it is. 11am in the morning, Luca Badoer out testing the F1 Ferrari. From the fence to the edge of the track is, at a guess, about 100 feet.

FOOKING BRILLIANT. Even better than the GP we had been to at Monza a few days earlier. You just don't expect to be driving along a public road and then be able to stop & see an F1 car at full blast

I don't think they have NIMBY's in Italy...

No. But if you visit the Castle Combe web site you can get councillors addresses to whom you can write (POLITELY) in support of Castle Combe circuit. Some councillors are even racers themselves and aren't happy!
