My Garmin virb records all manor of data as i go around the track and gives me the opportunity to look at lap times once the video is edited.

I can dump the GPX data out of it and I'm looking to see if there is a analysis software which can do what Harry's laptimer dose, giving you best lap and sector times (In corner names etc etc).

One possible option is to get Harry's Lap Timer and use your VIRB as the video source. It is a bit of faff but...

... the good thing with HLT is that it can export a VBO file, which can then be loaded into RaceLogic's Circuit Tools . The analysis capabilites of CT are quite comprehensive.

One other thing I would add is the accuracy of the GPS data. The sample frequency on a smartphone is quite low, which means a lack of accuracy. I actually bought a Garmin Glo which sampes at 20Hz. From what I read the VIRB is 10Hz, but some people are saying they are having problems sampling at that rate, although I'm sure any issue will get fixed in time.
