Hi,

I'm about to put my wife's low-mileage,(12k), MK7 Fiesta ST-2, with Mountune 215 upgrade, up for sale but am wondering whether to keep it and convert to a track-day car as it's a lot of car for the money I would get for it.

FWIW we already have a Catreham R500D and a fully stripped / caged Clio 172 cup with a K-Tec engine / throttle body conversion (230bhp / 178ft/lb) and properly sorted handling and brakes but I'm getting itchy feet. So the prospect of a new winter project appeals and this time one that remains road legal and can be driven to and from the track in relative comfort and used in all weathers. (I have a trailer but sometimes it's just nicer to throw everything in the back and head off)

To be honest I've hardly driven the car as it's been my wife's daily for a few years but when I have the performance hasn't been too shabby and the chassis feels hugely capable for FWD with a lot to offer in the right conditions.

However before I make any decision or let 'my heart rule my head,' I'd would be interested to hear from anyone who's tracked their ST, whether that be in stock or modied form, (light mods and beyond) and including tyre choice, to get some idea of the upgrades made and the expenditure involved. Power-wise, I'd like to see some gains above the current 215bhp but I'm not looking for anything silly with upgrade costs to match.

Many thanks in advance for any replies!

The ST is pretty good and can be made very good but with what you've already got in the garage I can't see why you'd bother TBH.
