Just come back from the 24h race and then a Lotus on Track trackday on the Monday, was anyone else there, had a great day, fabulous weather. So very quick Loti there in various guises.

Just one annoying French orange Elise, he could not cope with a lowly MX5 overtaking him and actually started to block me if I tried, I eventually just backed off but I caught him again within a lap and a half, so came in.

Definitely getting braver through Eau Rouge / Raidillon with only a slight lift required. I think it is possible flat, but your line would need to be spot on in an MX5 and by the end of the day taking Blanchimont 1 & 2 flat which I was pleased with.

Pic above taken at about 08.00 hrs on Monday morning - I think we might have spoken as I was in a garage either next to you/your friends further down the hill (the one with the 2 BMWs and a Mini).

We had a great time, albeit we were mad in hindsight to travel out on Sunday afternoon from the Midlands, arrive at little B&B minutes before midnight, do the track day on Monday and be back home in Staffordshire before the end of Monday (880 mile round trip plus track miles in a Mini in 36 hrs!!) driving . We're already talking about a possible return trip next year, though maybe with an extra day at Spa.

There was definitely some interesting kit and some of the driving standards were interesting given the "no overtaking in the braking zones/corners" briefing at the start.

Yes, we did raise an eyebrow when we heard how far you had travelled. smile

I only had one incident with a French Orange Elise, but it was just annoying rather than anything dangerous. I heard that there were a few interesting driver manoeuvres during the day., however by about 3pm quite a few people had gone home, we did some glorious laps on an almost empty track towards the end of the day.

We are definitely planning to return to Spa next year for some trackdays.

It had to be done on the big trip!

The journey home was interesting as I'd got a massive amount of rubber pick up left from the endurance race on the tyres (the rears particularly) & just couldn't shake it off on the track in the last few sessions & was chucking it at cars for the 450 mile journey home across Belgium, France & into the UK - it was like driving a car with massive flat spots with the vibration. I'm sure we'll be back next year, and probably with a few more in our group once friends hear how much fun we had biggrin
