How many people are going to be towing their cars down to Folembray?

We'll have a bit of trouble keeping up with the rest, so maybe we could organise a convoy of our own

I'll be taking the whole day off, so I was planning on calling the ferry company to see whether I can get onto an earlier crossing. What do you think? The hotel is nearly 100 miles from the ferry, so it's going to take us at least an hour and a half to get there.

I quite fancy arriving early, and seeing if we can get a bit of food and the odd drink.

Whilst I won't be towing I was thinking exactly the same thing (well actually the girlfriend was moaning about the late ferry times).

I figured if we got a ferry around 18:00 then we could get to the hotel by 10:30 which would leave enough time for the odd beer.

What sort of time were you thinking of?

I was thinking of calling the ferry company and finding out what times they go, and whether we could get on an earlier crossing. Probably aim for some time around 5-6 if possible. I'd like to try to miss as much of the M25 Friday rush as possible.

We're not towing - but we fancy an earlier ferry/ extra beer time. Anytime around 5/6ish is fine.

p.s anyone got a ferry booking confirmation yet?

It sounds like we should be able to get a reasonable group together for an earlier crossing (assuming we can change the ferry time).

Haven't received anything yet. Maybe ShinyAndy could tell us the company we're booked with, so that we can give them a call to check.

What are the chances of getting on earlier? I know it's easier on the way back as Sundays are usually quiet on the ferries.

I sent ShinyAndy an email yesterday asking for my booking reference but haven't had a reply yet

However looking at the times it's got to be with SeaFrance (so the other half tells me).

Given that getting the 6:15 would be a bit tight for me I was thinking of just turning up at 6:00 and seeing if I can get on, if I'm late I've still got my 8:15 booking (although I could try and get on the 7:15)

Mike.

I concur with the SeaFrance bit. Checking last night there was space for cars (not sure about trailers) on the 17:45 ferry. It was a whopping £15 more though

According to the very helpful young lady at BaT, an email will be out shortly with booking ref numbers and telephone contact.

Sorry guys,

We've all been out the office since Friday

An email will go out to you all this evening with all the ferry company details and booking reference number.

The reason we had to have this later ferry crossing was because there weren't enough spaces on earlier crossings. We also got a better rate for a group discount.

The ferry company is Direct Ferries

Thanks for the ferry details BaT.

I called DirectFerries and changed my booking to the 17:45 SeaFrance sailing. It cost £25 extra to move to a peak time, and you have to change your booking via Direct Ferries, NOT SeaFrance.

Cheerio,
Pete
