Does anyone know if MSV still use the noise test RPM listed in this doc: http://www.snetterton.co.uk/media/975291/snnoisedo...

I've got a bike track day at Snetterton this coming Saturday, and I was a bit dubious that the open arrow cans on my 748 might be too loud, but at 5,500 rpm they're approx 80db according to the sound meter on my phone, which is well within even allowing for inaccuracies.

Seems a bit low as a test rpm to me, given it revs to 11, but I'm not going to argue if it's correct!

Still the same. They use the ACU handbook which hasn't changed in years.

Revs aside, don't trust a phone db meter app. A phone microphone is designed to pick sound up from different angles, distances, frequencies to a proper db meter so don't expect a true reading.

Tested at 99, so still well within the 102 db limit. Bit more than the (not very scientifically aligned) phone app though!
