Snetterton 300 lap times
Discussion
Snetterton has been a very recent discovery for me. I had assumed it was a bit far away, but only 2 hours from Surrey. Plus the track is a great mix of high speed straights, high speed corners, slower technical sections, and reward a well balanced car.
Now been twice in the last month and I'm sure more to come.
So what kind of pace are people running to there? I got down to 2.15 in an E46 M3 with standard engine and a few track mods
Edit: So taking the lead from one of the other threads here, with some context:
Car: BMW E46 M3
Tyres: AD08R
Weather: Dry
Time: 2:15

There was a new M3 at Snetterton recently that was basically standard other than slicks, pads and remap that was doing 2:07 with a passenger! Very impressed!
I've done around 2:10 on crap tyres in a '91 Skyline GTR with 470 @ hubs.
From memory here are some others:
A friends boxter s race car does 2:13
Stock focus RS around 2:15
Stock Megane RS does 2:18
It's a fantastic track and the staff are much less strict than somewhere like Brands if you want to have fun
I go from south London and it also take about 2 hours if traffic ok, wish I lived closer!

I think I'd consider Snetterton one of, if not my absolute favourite circuit(s).
Car: BMW E92 M3
Tyres: BTCC Slicks

There was another second or two there as well, I reckon. I only got two sessions with it being my first time on slicks.
I was there last week in a friend's Elise, too.

I haven't been there yet, but on the PS4 the curbs look huge! That long right (Coram) just before a very sharp left looks challenging.
There are a few sausage curbs, the only one I ever hit is at Nelson. I used to hate Coram, it's a big balls corner that is very hard to really extract all the time from. Unless you're in a radical, which is flat - epic feeling.

Some fast laps here!
I guess I need more practice there or add a supercharger to the M3
There are people doing 2:07s in NA E46s with not a lot more than suspension, brakes, stripping - on slicks, of course. I guess I need more practice there or add a supercharger to the M3

Not sure what that translates to on road legal rubber, but I did a high 2:11 on Cup2s before the 2:08 on slicks.
Same circuit on a different day can give totally different laptimes, especially at Snett with it's two huge straights and head/tail winds. I would say the accurate comparison of tyres is best done back to back on the same day. I've found 2 or 3 seconds varience in laptimes on different days of similar conditions, temperatures etc. Laptimes are usually slower in the afternoon for most in general too
