I'm doing a Rockingham trackday on Saturday and my wife is coming but won't be driving (or coming out in the car, doesn't trust me biggrin). What facilities are there for spectators there? Is there a cafe to spend some time relaxing in a comfortable seat with wifi for example?

thanks

There is wifi, not a cafe as such but the briefing room is always open during the day and the normally have a butty van just outside.

Sometimes the have other events going as well, when I was there in March they had a Joules Clothing sale going on!

Its a modern well kept venue, IIRC you can view from over the garages and see most of the track, but its quite flat so binoculars needed if you really wanna see whats going on half way round! Not much there for on-site food on a 'non event' day, but its very close to the Corby town, supermakets etc are only 5 mins drive, and venue remains accessible all day.

Nothing to add, but I'll be there also with my girlfriend, she wants a few laps though.

In a blue Clio, if you see us say hello!

There is a cafe - walk through the tunnel under the banking. There you find the hospitality suite and views from above the banking.

The food in the diner is actually OK.

There is usually also a big "burger van" in the paddock, again not bad.

Busy here today and a lot of people testing. However etiquette seems pretty good so far.

I thought most people behaved very well with the exception of a couple of the caterhams.

I managed to break my diff mid-afternoon and had to be towed off track with no drive, only my 2nd trackway in the Fury!

Now need to find somewhere to rebuild or replace the diff

Yeah had a couple of caterhams racing up to the first bend, 3 berth wide at one point.

Were you in the Red golf by any chance? My missus got scared off her track experience by encountering a backwards MX5 on the first hair pin

we were in the green Lotus Elise.....shared between 4 of us driving our first ever track day.

Did have a couple of cars lunge up the inside of a corner a couple of times and a few assumptions that I'd seen all 5+ Caterhams coming :-) but on the whole it was pretty good - we had an instructor in the car with us so the extra pair of eyes and good instruction meant all was fine and we did had a great first experience.

Twisty technical track was brilliant in the Elise S cup.

Think I saw both of you. I was the slightly lost guy trying to find signing on in the morning!

Was in the metallic blue 182, felt unnatural to me at first going anti-clockwise but after a bit of tuition started to get the hang of it.

The track was not kind to the car at all.

Jimbo, I have a funny feeling that could have been one of our group in my silver MX5! Hope it hasn't put her off for life...

You don't happen to have that rather loose moment on camera from another angle do you?

Ha! It felt worse than it looks on the GoPro.
I have us coming up to it, and going past but not the actual spin.
I'll dig out the footage and see what I can grab, the focus wasn't great on the GoPro, too much glare.

Were you parked next to us? We were in the blue Clio.
