As a road legal track tyre- Yoko A048
Actually on a Nova as its light as a track day but road legal tyre, maybe try Avon acb10, really its a Caterham tyre but a chum with Mk1 Golf with 165bhp raved about them & got very very good track day life out of them.

Ben,
ACB10's are great in the dry but rightly mentioned by JeremyC a little tricky in the wet. If you're driving the car with these tyres fitted to your track days it will weave around as you negotiate lorry tram lines, too. With that in mind though, it is a brilliant tyre.
As an alternative, and a good mix of both dry and wet handling why not go for the Avon CR500. Another Caterham compound but in a lightweight car such as your Nova they should more than get up to temperature.

Toyo T1-S is a road tyre. I've got a set of rims with Toyo R888s for trackdays.
i actually used my avon ACB10's the weekend just gone in france. they were simply awesome. so much grip. even when 'cold'.
although they were brand new so i decided to scrub them in a bit by driving the 30miles from the hotel to the track in them...never again. ive never had to fight my car so much before. they just picked out every imperfection in the tarmac and went with it.
but otherwise, they are great.
im interested in the CR500 that keith mentioned.

On track!? Progressive may be, but no way is it "good"!!!
Well as road tyres & not track tyres go I think its pretty darn good, its the control tyre in Stoch hatch racing (tho they do buff 'em down to 3 or 5 mm i think before useing them) & I've done 4 track days & a sprint on a set of A539s that were pretty worn in the 1st place & the feckers still wont die.
Im not going easy on them either, same driving style & conditions about a week or so ago saw me on the yokos at Coombe in the morning then on the slicks in the afternoon, similar track time on both yet destroyed a NSF race slick (not mega soft qualifing jobbies or anything) yet the yokos were fine & hardly worn.
So yes a bit slidey & not in proper track tyre league of course- (but a fraction of the cost) obvisously way less sticky & slower lap times, but for the road & very ocassional track day type I rate them highly.

Lot of fun though, easy to drive, will esily last a trackday and be fine to drive home on. They are good road/track tyres, some wet grip (better than an semi slick, but not much), and cheap too.
not great for outright grip, but not what you want if its your first time out on track, i would trade pregressive fun for outright grip any day until you learn the limits anyway. got the rears nice and warm and sliding just niceley anyway www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=2128711539&idx=5 , great high powered light fwd tyre IMHO
For info all of the BaT caterfields use these as there gooning track tyres, cant be that bad!
appears i am with iguana then

Im guessing for the Intergra not the GT3 in that size!
I've actually been interested in those tyres but not known anyone whos run them.
I like to ask-
What sort of wear have you had out of them, & what tread depth do they come with new? as Mich cups for example only 5mm as new so a pretty sort life.
Also ive seen 3 dif types listed- Hard, medium & soft- which did you go for.
Cheers

Hi Iguana, I met you at bedford once, didnt I.??
Yep they were for the teg. I think the original depth was 5mm.
I would say they looked pretty close to illegal after 2 dry track days (on the front only) rears still have 3-4mm . but I have them on a spare set of alloys so driving on the road with them is not an issue. Having said that, when I did have them on the car for a few weeks between track days, they were excellent on the road too. The sidewasll is super stiff and the car feels absolutely flat unlike the crappy toyo t1s balloons I have on the other rims.
I think mine are the soft ones...which would explain the wear rate, but to honest I never really got a choice. But if you get them from camskill, I think you do.
But for 45 quid a corner, I couldnt complain.!
