Like something that normally would have a box of tissues on the parcel shelf and a tartan blanket on back seats....but...

158bhp
146mph
0-60 at 6.8 secs.....

Thats with the interior intact...
All for under £900!

Am I crazy to think of getting one to track day in?

lower it, strip it...leave the rest standard. Could you be bothering the Clio / Saxo boys?

146mph? Are you dropping it from a Hercules?

HAHAHA<
Sadly you are using the figures from Autotrader which are for the Type R !!!!

The Type S is more like 8.2>8.5 seconds to 60 with a top speed of around 130-131 depending on whose figures you rely on.

Oh, naughty AutoTrader... well i reckon you could still annoy Saxo / Clio drivers in one on a track day with those stats.

I suppose the biggest issue is the fact they look so rank and most likely handle about as well as Parcel Force.
But, would be a fun day i'm sure.

True true. When Saxo's are similar price i'd go that route.

Also you are thinking of standard Saxos etc. Most will be track cars and be stripped, caged, good tyres, suspension and brakes and handle like they are on rails. A warm Civic wont touch them.

The closest I have been to what you are suggesting is using a standard Corolla T Sport for a closed trackday at the Nurburgring.
Think it surprised a few people as its a car that always gets slated for being st. I was doing 9 min laps so not quick enough to bother anyone who knew what they were doing but I was able to play with a few things well above station like a S2000, M3 and 911 but the big advantage at the Ring is knowing the track and I have 10+ years of experience there. They all probably would have smashed me on a normal circuit.
