Llandow in Tuscan/Fiat Coupe Turbo/bent Tuscan!
Discussion
Morning all,
First - late Sunday morning - going into London, Crystal Topaz Tuscan
seems like it had gone nose on into a post holding up a roadsign -
didn't get the reg no. There was a motorbike there too - didn't seem
much damaged Anybody here?
Also - had a great day out in the Beast on Saturday at Llandow track
day - not getting too far past the ragged edge, because at 1600 mls
since rebuild - 5000 rpm can still be fun on a little circuit like
that. SO3s behaved suprisingly well, still lots of tread left though -
why is it easy to kill tyres you like, but the grotty ones seem to
go on forever?
Llandow is a small and quite tight circuit - however I would not
hesitate to recommend that anybody wanting a good time chucking their
Tuscan around - go for it (even if you wont get over 110 mph!)
Took Fiat Coupe along too - 220 bhp on the FRONT wheels - it
really screwed my head up to switch between the cars. Its hard
to say which was actually more fun - the Tuscan is of course
quicker, and more rewarding when you get the corners right - but the
Fiat is so chuck-around-able and squeelie!! This is certain to be
because I am not an expert driver - I'm sure that in
better hands than mine the Tuscan would be double fun!
Anyway - despite a nasty double roll from a Celica which badly
injured the day instructors hand, it was a super day out!

Think the Tuscan you mentioned is now at Mole Valley. Went in there this morning to have the wheel alignment checked, and there was a Topaz coloured Tuscan with a bit of frontend damage (grill cracked, edge of main bonnet cracked, radiator damaged...)
Simon said it had hit a bike - so sounds like the same one.

It was on the long corner before the straight which leads to the bus stop - its called glue pot. Guy fairly novice, I spoke to the instructor after he returned from having his hand fixed up, and saw a vid from car behind, first time through he went very slow, second time through he went into the corner very quickly, panicked, lifted off (front wheel drive remember)- he caught the first oversteer but over compensated and went off up the bank. He seemed unhurt, and as far as I know, no broken bones for the instructor. The gluepot is deceptive - it seems to have a negative camber. I was very cagey round there for the rest of the day.
