Laguna seca trackday
Discussion
Hi All,
I want to do a track day at Laguna seca and have found out that there are driving schools there for single seaters but I'd much rather do it in something like an Exige or similar. Not having much luck in finding a company that can hire cars for track days and fix it up at Laguna. Anyone got any experience of doing a track day here and how they went about it?

Hello,
I did a trackday with Hooked On Driving at Laguna Seca in September. It was an amazing experience and HOD were excellent, although the format and rules are very different to what we're used to in Europe.
Myself and my wife were planning a Californian roadtrip with a trackday being the centrepiece. I found a date that would work on the Laguna Seca website calendar and put a post on a US BMW forum to see if anyone was attending that particular day. I had one maybe, but nothing firm. A couple of months passed and I had an email from a guy who owned a Z4M Roadster like mine. He was planning to attend and happy to give me some passenger laps. A conversation took place, sharing of trackday and race videos and the gentleman very generously offered to share the drive of the car! Flights booked and roadtrip planned!
I was extremely lucky to have met a generous guy that owned the same car as me. No idea if that would work for you, but judging by your garage maybe try posting on a US Audi or Lotus forum and ask their advice, or contact Hooked On Driving and see what they can suggest, they were very helpful to myself and my wife.

I sooo want to drive at Laguna Seca in a decent car. It looks fantastic. I will follow this thread with interest. I have raced on and off for 30 years and still enjoy a good track day at Spa or a decent UK circuit, but this is definitely on my bucket list before I have to hang up my gloves. I just don't want to do it in a crap hire car that spoils the fun. Tricky
