You know the feeling - out of the Old Hairpin, fully committed, flat out in 4th, into 5th. Begin the move across to the left ready for the right turn into Mcleans - all in a 360 Challenge Stradale

A moment to savour? Well, ordinarily - apart from two wheels entering the slick of oil left by some kind person who had just blown their engine and decided to drive all over the racing line

Result? Full 720 spin right at the point of least run off - where most people go into the wall.

How I didn't hit the wall, or any gravel I will never know!

Decided to go home at that point and shove some money into a lottery ticket as someone is clearly smiling on me from above!

Oh and no insurance on the car either...

(Performs quick sign of the cross)....

Having watched an F40 go up in flames a month ago at bedford, I am now VERY HAPPY to pay an additional £100 for track day cover.

That oil just before McLeans was not in a good place was it! I just can't believe some people and their thinking to stay on the racing line when their engines clearly gone ca-plunk and is oozing oil everywhere.
After you left apparently a Porsche lost his back wheel up there. Not quite sure why! I didn't get to see what damage it caused as they decided to call it a day and they were still clearing it when everyone was going home!

That's cheap! May I ask: who does your cover? I might be interested in that for myself.

Except track day cover doesn't cover fire unless caused by impact so you wouldn't be covered

As you are on a testing ban at Donington Sarah, I wouldn't go posting your attendance on line - you never know who is reading!!!!!!

Tony,

what have you done with the EVO?

Used to lurk about on the MLR forum when I had my 6, and talked to you a while ago at Donnington, when I had my Grp N Escort Cossie. Think you just been kicked off for being too noisy.

I'm off to Donnington on Monday for my first trackday in the just run in M400. Hope it's dry

SilverSix,

The EVO was set to race in Britcar, and during trials at Snett last summer after 45 mins continuous running threw a rod through the block. Nothing was left engine/turbo wise. I took the wiring, motec, fuel pumps and a few other pieces for the CSL race car, and sold the remaining parts of the rolling shell for a criminial pittance!

Good riddance - car was nothing but trouble.
