I'm going to try and make this, probably only for the afternoon though.

Will probably be in my old Skyline GTR, keeping everything crossed about noise!

What are you going in?

Very enjoyable day today, was surprised at how slippery it was in the morning. I managed a spin in my second lap of the day, on the kink after the initial hairpin, but found more and more grip as the day went on.

Shame about the red flag in the afternoon, it's not often you see a car parked all the way up the banking... Anyone see the incident take place? Presumably brake failure, or failure to brake?

Please tell me someone has a picture of it? My colleague said he thought it was an advert for some event until he saw the tyre marks. Right up the bank!

Feel for the poor lad though, thankfully both him and the car were ok

Which car ended up the bank? I saw the owner of the Maserati getting "told off" by one of the staff as they were somehow involved, did the car just beach itself or did it roll?

For anyone interested here are a couple of my videos, one in the wet:

and one in the dry(ish):

Nice video, it does show how slippery it was in the morning - any spins? You're carrying good speed through the chicane on the straight in the second one, what tyres are you on?

It was the Maserati that went (a long way) up the bank (just to the left of the propane tank, on the hairpin at the end of the main straight). Not sure why they didn't just go into the run-off instead of attempting the hairpin way too fast.

Cheers, yeah it was mega slippery in the morning. Even in the afternoon when it was drying out, I kept finding damp patches dotted around. I had one spin going into the bend at the start of the main straight; started oversteering and tried to correct it but it went to far and I ended up facing backwards! You only get a small window to work with on the Atom before it goes past the point of no return, and I wasn't quick enough that time. I was running AO48's, soft fronts and medium rears. Did you manage to get any footage? If you were driving the white 7 type car in your profile pic I'm pretty sure I remember seeing that out on track smile

Yes, that was me in the white 7. I also had an off just before the back straight - in my case I locked up the brakes on entry and got on the grass... turns out you can't slow down very much on wet grass so I went quite a long way... no harm done though. Also nearly managed a collision with an m3 driver (the one with a mix of silver and black wheels) who decided to dive down the inside just as I started to turn left to enter the kink, not clever. Missed him by a narrow margin. Anyway a fun day overall, wet track days are awesome :-)
