I have a track day coming up on 18th March @ Snetterton and I am thinking whether or not to get new tyres before hand.

I still have a good 1mm before the wear blocks (prob 3mm total) but I am not sure how long these will last on Track, I have already had two track days and about 13k miles out of the tyres, so they have done well. They are the Rears and Continetals.

Just thinking I should get new tyres now so that I can bed them in a bit before the day.

Any thoughts? Would obviously prefer to get the tyres after the day but don't want to risk loosing the day on track due to my tyres!

The Car is a 99 Boxster 2.5....

I'd not bother with new road tyres for the day as you will do a lot more damage to new ones than to part-worn ones.

If it is an option, you can arrange for tyres to be fitted at the end/middle of the day by a mobile fitting company. This will mean you can blast around on the old tyres until they are useless and then go home safely on new ones.

However, the last two track days this month have been cancelled due to bad weather!

When you say this month do you mean March or the Month just gone as in during feb?

We have 2 weeks for the weather to improve!

Edit: Just had a look on weather.co.uk it looks to be clearing by the middle of next week!

I meant a month ago from today! Bookatrack cancelled last week's event and rescheduled for this weekend. That has also been cancelled! I suppose you could say two have been cancelled in the last week.
