I was having a conversation with Paul Wilson who owns 100% Bikes (by far the biggest bike track day organisors in the country) and his personal opinion is that the days of the track day are numbered, he believes that within the next 2/3 years indemnities and law suits will have made is no longer viable for organisors to run days or circuits to rent out the tracks for Joe Public to pay his money and thrash his car/bike round a track. He does believe he will still have a business and will look towards "testing days" that will require riders to have ACU licenses etc plus certain safety features on the bikes (lock wires etc). He currently has his disclaimer, insurance policy and indemnity legally reviewed monthly and to date he has had to take some moves that have actually made the days less safe such as doing away with all scrutineering (incase someone claims "you said it was safe")

Book them now while you still can.

Can any US PHers confirm that track days are like Rocking Horse Sh1te in the states for exactly these reasons.

That's the reason that ATDO was set up two years ago. By self regulating the industry they hope to keep their house in good enough order to avoid litigation.

Bike days incur deaths of course which make them a harder one to deal with.
