Track day club holds open day

Head to Bruntingthorpe for a track club try-out

Track day club track-sense is holding a couple of open days so potential members can try out the cars for themselves.

Limited to 25 people per day and costing £150 you will be given the opportunity to test five different cars from the fleet at Bruntingthorpe.

The cars available on the day will be:

  • Turner LMP-S
  • Ariel Atom
  • Lotus Exige
  • BMW E30 M3
  • Renault Sport Spyder
  • Peugeot 205 S16

Potential members will drive five of the above six cars around the southern Bruntingthorpe circuit and will receive approximately eight to 10 laps in each car. Instructors will be on hand to provide a few pointers for those who want them and the track-club team will be there to tell you more about membership and how you can be hiring your track cars in 2005 from as little as £200 per day.

The club is also offering to put £100 of the fee from the day against the first year's membership costs should you subsequently join.

Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis so move fast and reserve your place.

Just some further details on this day, in addition to the six cars listed there should also be a Caterham Roadsport B available as long as it comes out of track-club prep in time.

There are now only a few places left for the Saturday but a few more available on the Sunday.

Forms can be downloaded here;

www.track-sense.com/cars/nr250105_openday.htm

Quite a few Pistonheaders coming along so it should be a good day.

Steve as it is next weekend, will any booking confirmations be sent out? or do we just arrive at Brunters at a certain time?

Great day out yesterday and I didn't even drive! We're still sorting pictures but have loads to post, hopefully the link will be up within the next couple of days. It was nice to meet some PH's as well.

$ucking cold though but a beautiful clear sunny day. I'm sure nobody will mention the chap who spun first thing in the morning, not quite sure of his name, some chap called Ted??!!

And I'm also sure nobody will mention the LMP car and its piston....but if they do, I've got the photographic evidence!

Cold? fecking 'eck I've been warmer in Norway above the Artic circle, even seasoned PH'ers with a fair few V-maxs under their belts & thus well used to standing round at chilly & windy Brunters were cold!

Those poor old instrutors in the open cars were im sure fending off frost bite

Anyway, a blinder of a taster day, despite it being their 1st time it all pulled together well in the end.

Shame about the self destructing LMP, but what do you expect giving 1st go to a man whos PH logon is Nutcase

For feedback-

They do need to look into the seating arangements in a couple of the cars tho, not every one is sized like a Hobbit altho that is pretty quick & easy to sort out- bench seats & ditch the cage on the 7 for example, & runners on the Clio V6 seats, tho I fear no one of height & with shoulders wider than a child will ever be comfortable changing gear in the Atoms moulded seats.

Awesome dayout although it just goes to show you the risks of running your own car which is why I'm signing up for the club. Pity about the LMP but they guys said it wasn't the actual track-club car whih is still in build, it was the development chassis so it's had a haed life.

The Atom.........sooo cold...my favourite, the Spyder and the M3

Thanks to everyone for an amaing (and excellent value) day!
