My ridedrive course
Discussion
I', booking my ridr drive course later today, but one thing that does concern me, is will i neeed to take out any extra insurance forthe aerodrome bit that they do on their advance driving and handling skills course?
I don't want my insurance company to ruin something that i am so looking forward to by telling me that I am not insured for that hour that i am there.
TIA

You are asking this today? Why on earth didn't you call them a few weeks ago! Dear oh dear.
However - a few years back I went on a skid control and performance driving course (on track for part of it) and told my insurers - they were fine about it. So you could always check with them this morning.
I think it is vanishingly unlikely that you could have a problem on an aerodrome hired for ride/drive's exclusive use. The point of such places is that you can spin the car in safety. So to be honest, I wouldn't worry anyway.
Enjoy it!

Your instructor will not put you or allow you or your car to be in danger on the airfield or any other place you happen to go.
The airfield will be for your sole use. There should not be anyone else there. If there is, the instructor will negotiate with them so that you are not in conflict with anyn other use.
Are you going to Oakington airfield?

I'm not sure which one i will be going to yet, apart from it being in Bedfordshire.

Jane, if you do a track day with your own or a friends car Eggar Lawson insurance in Nottingham are excellent, ask for Richard Eggar, if you are having a day in Bedford at Palmers with their cars you are covered. Ask for Christian, Alex, or Rob they are all senior instructors, you couldnt be in better hands, hold on tight!!!!!
