Want to do more track days this year in my Griff. Is worth about 20K and being quoted £155/day with £1700 excess.I did 2 track days last year wiv lots of spin offs but no damage and no insurance. Should I bother or do you all take out insurance. Thanks a lot for any advice.

Daily Track insurance is unbelievably expensive.

It is MUCH cheaper if you can get it included in your road cover. A.Manning appear to still be able to get this - and they operate (or have operated) the "TVRCC" policy.

I was also recommended them by a chap from the PCGB recently...as Performance Marque (previous darlings of the PCGB) no longer do the RSA policy with free track day cover thrown in. (RSA withdrew it).

So come renewal I'll give Performance Marque a chance to get me a renewal with Track Cover - but I'll be comparing their price (if they can do it at all) with A. Manning...

they do insurance cover that includes ALL main trackday organisors and at all events...even the 'Ring! all you have to do is let them know prior to the event as your excess increases slightly.

full value cover and they're not scared of modified cars.

competitive pricing as well

Icb, if you are doing track days and managing to spin off then it will only be a matter of time before you hit another car/armco. IMHO you would be well advised to have some tuition to allow you to enjoy the performance of the car without having any moments.

If your car is worth 20k....it is often worth getting insured for a fixed ammount as in 10k....this can help keep track day insurance costs down, spend the money you save on driver training so that you don't spin so much

Try Aon. If you are a member of the RMA, you will get an even better rate.

Track cover for all events is covered by a small premium (1/1000) on the value of the car. You need to ring them the day before. The excess is higher, but the car is insured to its FULL value.

So for my GT3 it costs me £55 per track day to insure...
Not bad.

The policy only extends to "collectors cars" like porsches ferraris etc.

They would cover my Integra.

he was bloody quick!!! Only once I got my tyre pressures right, could I pull away from him after lunch. Before that I ket in front but gave him quite a nice display of sliding and a couple of spins.

I knew he would be, he was always really good a Karting and still plays loads of computer games (a saddo like me).
Anyway, I got a rude text from him today telling me how he hasnt been able to think about anything else all day, and how I am going to cost him a sh=tload of money.....cool.

Number is 01483706059

ask for Nick Bailey. Tell him I recommended you, and that I originally applied through RMA...hopefully you will get the same deal.
