Hi guys,

Just wondered what sort of times you guys are doing at Castle Combe. If you could state your Model of car, tyres and weather that would be ideal.

Did a couple of sessions at JapFest the past weekend and just interested to see where im at. I havn't done Combe in a few years so was a bit of a shake down for the car really.

Car: 94 Impreza RA
Tyres: A048's
Weather: Damp
Time: 1:24.8

Car: Superchargeed MK1 MX5
Tyres: Toyo T1R
Weather: Dampish
Time: 1:31s

First day there since charging it and taking things very carefully so I would expect to see low 1:20s once I've bedded the car in and fitted the R888s.

you the lad with the white one that comes up to us at Infinity-Exhausts? The track was unpredictable on Saturday.

Last year June some time dry.

1998 TVR Cerbera 4.5
Kumho V70A tyres
low 1:20's was an average, never did get the hang of Tower Corner, couldn't work out the speed that I could take into it and didn't want to over do it due to the lack of gravel.

I don't do timing on track days, it's not allowed. Someone timed me without my knowledge last week.

Time, couldn't possibly say, I would hate for someone to think I was timing wink

I managed a 1.14.7 in my 247bhp Caterham SV in the dry on Avon CR 500s a few years ago.
Couldn't get near that in my Radical SR3 (about 1.30) 3 weeks ago, but it was in monsoon conditions!

Was up there a couple of Fridays ago.

Mk3 2.0 mx5, 30mm lowering springs, RX8 ARBs and uniroyal rainsports 3 tyres. Dry and warm.

Best on video was a 1.29 but in the afternoon was comfortably into the 1.27s but sadly the camera died. Tyres were the limiting factor. Some decent rubber would have knocked another second or so off the times.
