Pretty as per the title really. Looking for a Tyre Pressure and Temperature monitoring system for road/track use.

The Tyre Sure (the one for £170 roughly) has been recommended to me but ive learnt that it has a +2C tolerance where as the one you can get from Maplins (which looks like it just goes on the valve) has a +3C tolerance.

So just wondered what everyone used and/or recommended

Hi,

I know this is an old post, but since it is exactly the same question I was going to ask, I will just reply. However I was looking at the cheaper end.

Anyone using one of these? I'm surprise there isn't too much conversation about these things, they are inexpensive and very useful for trackdays.

A friend of mine is using this, and it's happy with the result but doesnt look like a good quality product to me

This one, looks a bit better, but it might be too big maybe...

Thank you very much

Had a similar system with thread on sensors. Very handy to keep track of the pressure on track days. My system updates a bit slow, but its very old i hope the newer systems are better.

My concern was the slow update rates I`d read about and the fact you need a special tool to loosen / tighten the sensors.

I was also concerned about the centrifugal force at say 150mph+, is it enough to put a lot of stress on the valve stem / seal to the rim ?

Those are exactly my same concerns.

Not too much about the update rates (unless it takes more than a whole lap) but I'm a bit scared about what could happen if the weight of the sensor rips the valve up at max speed.

I'm surprised though, there is not more of this system specialised in trackdays or racing...

I have the Steelmate TP-70, they look very similar except mine has just one pressure display that cycles between the 4 wheels - never had any problems with mine - they warned me of a slow puncture I had and high pressure 48psi on track. with 35 profile tyres the slow puncture warning is great saver.

My car isn't fast enough to get into trouble with the valves. Didn't notice any issues with them.
