Air strip in north east

Does anyone know where there is an airstrip or similar within 100 miles of Newcastle that you can take your car on?

I heard that there is one at Elvington near york but I have not been able to find any info on this.

Any help will be appreciated

elvington is a good airfiled, abrasive on tyres though, but loads of run off. Most of the TDO's do trackdays there - there is usually one running at the venue every other weekend. FWIW the layout used by javelin is better than the one used by Bookatrack as it is much more like a race circuit - kind of like a flat mallory, but with loads of run off.

I might try and get a day booked in the near future.

I've only done one track day, it was at teeside autodrome, it was excellent fun, but all bends and only one straight section, the highest gear I got into was 3rd!
