Is anyone a member of this through EVO magazine and if so is it worth it?

Some of the days look good and the venues are impressive but what are they actually like?

Someone on the British Cars forum has just been on one but was complaining that Radical were there with 4 cars and lots of potential customers who were ignoring all the rules and over / undertaking all day in dangerous places with no action being taken by the organisers.

I quite fancy joining for next year but would like some opinions or details of peoples experiences first.

I now make a point of checking any trackdays i do.
If they are shared with EVO active then I will not participate. The level of organisation was not what I expect from a track day I attend.
I do not think i am alone in this view, a shame really Evo mag is probably the best on the shelf, it just doesn't automatically mean they do the best track days.

I think they probably have some sort of arrangement to share track time in return for Radical providing a few cars for hot laps.

Not ideal though

I went with Heritage to Snetterton on Wednesday, the day was shared with Evo, I have to say i think it was well organised and safe. Yes, it was my first trackday so i cant compare but it seemed a good enviroment with courteous driving in general. Radical were there and were fast but not in any way dangerous, so all in all i would go with them again

I was a member of EvoActive a couple of years ago and did a couple of their events at Donnington and Snetterton (in fact, even won 'Driver of the day' at Donnington!). Anyway, the organisation I thought was fine and the driving standards generally good. Even with Phil Bennett and Evo staff driving Radicals and the like there were no real problems with etiquette etc. The 'hot laps' was the only bit that didn't seem to be too well organised - ie there were always queues and no way of actually predicting which vehicle you would end up in etc. This I believe they were sorting out last year.

As for whether it's value for money or not, well, I would dispute that it is. As part of the membership I was meant to get the EvoActive newsletter etc yet despite 3 requests to Roger Green (listening Roger?) I never received anything - not even the one with me in it! The discounts on the non-members rates only mean that you're paying around the same as you would on any other open pit-lane day at the circuits.

Would I rejoin? Potentially if the promised benefits materialised and there was guaranteed access to the hot-rides etc.
