I've done it in about a minute with 110BHP.

Admittedly I was 1200 feet up in the air at the time cool

Not driven it in the dry but can do an easy 2 minute lap in the wet 2 up in a mk1 MX-5.
Looks like late 1 minute 30's in the dry would be about right.

Showing the owner how much/little grip there was after a December monsoon... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPWGQ7L5TWQ

Pushing harder and without the passenger, I think it would be 5-6 secs faster.

From memory I was doing about 1:46 in a 210bhp 1,180kg 924 Carrera GT. It's a couple of years ago and as you can see I'm not really pushing. Should be able to go quicker, but it's a starting reference. Late 1:30s sounds about right.

Averaging 96mph around the lap is impressive enough, but from a standing start is absolutely amazing yikes

Must be a serious contender for the outright (rolling) lap record, which stands at 1:18.954 (Andrew Smith, Lola T70)... bow

I went round in 1.34 in my 997 and felt quiet chuffed at that - I was going for it but only at about 8/10th's!

997 C2S around Goodwood

Not sure what 200hp would do, but in the right hands and the right car probably as quick?

Apparently so, 216 bhp (in a 50 year old 950kg) Alfa will do it.

There's some in car video on YouTube at alfaholicstv taken in the company Giulia saloon from Goodwood at the octane track day. I timed one lap at about 1.34.

Not me driving I hasten to add...

I think my best was 1:35 from a standing start in an M3 CSL on standard road tyres (PS2's) so as a lap time somewhere around 1:30?

Anything under 90sec from a standing start is pretty good, my best is 87secs. I think 90 sec on a full lap would be about right as well.

1:30's and you are going very well, get into the 1:20's and you are up there with the best.

Used to do about 1:37 in my Elise and now about 1:40+ in the Cooper S...

That's after 15 years of trying mind...

I'm no pro but got my 997.1 Gt3 into the 1min 28s last time there, recorded on logger. Vid of first session of day not quite as quick.

Starting from the pitlane: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4VeG4TMJZw
Starting from the finish line: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7_hisLM9Ig

Car is geared to a max 130mph so I'm spending quite a lot of time on the limiter in 6th. Last year I dipped into the 87s but I don't seem to have the video on my YouTube channel.

1 min 25.7 seconds.

Two up in a Skyline R33 GTR Nissan with circa 700bhp.

Hitting 152mph.

Not my car or me driving but from the passenger seat I crapped myself!

Amazing.. The driver does a lot of sprinting there and knows the track really well, it's blooming scary going round that stupidly fast right at 120 + slightly sideways!

Here it is :
