Discussion
just for interest:
www.trackdayplus.com
for all details.
we are running an annual shootout with the top cars from various clubs. I still have a few spaces, for suitable cars, if you want to take part. quick response needed if you are interested.
head to head drag runs over 1/4 and 1/2 mile, timed speed trap at 1.2miles at least, plus a timed sprint cct (one car at a time).
video/dvd being shot on the day, in-car/external etc, all entrants will receive a copy afterwards.
spectating welcome, register on website so we can gauge numbers attending please.

Flasher, that RS Turbo is dead meat. But I don't fancy your chances against the bulk of the entrants.
If you were a betting man who would you be looking to beat ?
Mmmmm, just had a read of the list and just about everything has been modified.... OK my Tamora has around 350bhp and does the ton in under 10 seconds,so it wouldn't disgrace itself, but at least it's standard....not sure I can be arsed racing my car against anyone who has spent twenty grand making a bloody escort have 500bhp, I'm not really into the Max Power thing
If a few other TVR's are up for it I would definitley come along...

hi all
we specifically avoided Pod, as we wanted to run 1/2 mile head to head and additionaly single car top speed traps. the top speed will actually only be at 1.2 miles or so, so wont be actual top speed outright, but will at least be valid and balance up the 4wd cars advantage off the line. we also can run a (small) timed handling course throughout the day. our recent test day had a few skylines crack 160+mph at that distance into a headwind.
this event is going to be run annually, so more than happy to take a few TVRs etc for now, with maybe an organised entry list for next year? would just need a liason rep from you.
for this year, any individuals /friends etc wanting to take part need to confirm direct with me asap on email
chris@200plusclub.com
and also get the form and entry fee in this week or next absolute latest.
website is www.trackdayplus.com
has been updated tonight to show latest entries. also some promo footage for the video, we shot it last month on a test day there.
entry is £70 , for the full day, by chq or P.O only in advance, payable to TrackdayPlus ltd.
all details are on entry form on website
any queries let me know.
sorry its a bit late opening it out to Tvrs etc on here, but we have been a bit let down by 2 groups not attending, as the event was originally oversubscribed immediately. (only approx 80-90 top cars on day)
yes a lot of cars are modded, but we are running classes:
fwd, rwd, 4wd and also
fastest 1/2 mile, top speed and timed handling for each class. there are a few 220-250bhp cars running in the fwd classes, (plus at least one 350bhp fwd car!)
quite a few mags covering it (usual ahem boy racer type and also a few others), but we are making our own dvd and vid of the event, in car and external, on digi cams.
all entrants will of course receive a copy f.o.c
insurance is not included in the price, as it is a timed event, be careful to check your own policies. you WILL be signing a std disclaimer!
the event will only be one car out at a time on handling, on a flat coned cct. The main runway is two cars at a time on drag runs , with timing gear and lights as at Pod. only one car will continue on to the top speed trap. therefore the risks should be less than on a busy trackday, but as mentioned, anyone wanting insurance is best sorting it themselves.
anyway, you have two weeks to sort it if interested.
spectators are welcome, but if poss register on website to give us an idea on numbers attending.
hope to hear from you soon

there are at least 3 skylines over 600bhp as recently witnessed at a GTR rolling road shootout at Tuning Japanese.
one was 714bhp, and has been modded again since.
i've been out in one that was 552bhp and we managed a two up 12.2s 1/4 mile and 162mph in 1.2miles
there are also a fair few of big power supras coming, no spec details as yet but reputedly 500+bhp. the dodge vipers will no doubt be quick as well.
and all the cossys are engine dyno proven 500+bhp and similar torque, (ie martin hadlands 518bhp escort cossy engine now in another escort!)
should prove very interesting.

we were running an event for the best UK road cars, so most were highly modded, as you would expect. running a std unmodded class would be a bit hard to verify anyway, so easy to cheat!
therefore we run open mods, any fuel, just sticking to road legal DOT marked tyres (which can be V sticky !)
