Never been, thought I'd tick it off the 'tracks yet to do' list, whats your views?

Read a few here & more are not that glowing-

www.pistonheads.com/trackdays/reviews.asp?c=4&id=27

I know its a small track, worth traveling miles up from down south to do?

Or should I save the big 'oop North' (well ok so Mallory is not that far North really) drives for places that I know are good like Oulton, Cadwell & although its a lot further north- Croft, (love to do Knockhill also but that is a soddin' long drive!)

Personally I wouldn't travel too far to visit. There is not much to it.

One long fast corner,Gerrards, one hairpin with very, very little run off space, and a small wiggly bit in between.

imho I would make the effort to go to Oulton Park which is far more of a challenge and probably the best drivers circuit in the country. Or Donington which is also great fun.

As a relative novice, I did Mallory park as one of my first. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it was good in a way as it was quite quick for a novice to 'learn'...

however, on the (dry) day that I did it, there were 4 separate crashes (thankfully none serious) which certainly helped to focus the mind and add some caution...

Mallory is OK, its small and paddock is scruffy, the challenge is Gerards ,a fast 180 that seems to keep going. Best on a dry day so you can calibrate progress , on a wet day you need a bit of safety margin or a lobotomy. Donington Park is a larger more complete circuit not far from Mallory ....

Cheers chaps, seems not really worth the effort then.

I was actualy booked for a day there, but due to some cock up or other the date has now been moved & its a bit of a sod date wise for me, Donnington (Trackzone) has just published its winter dates, so perhaps one of them instead I feel.

I am ticking off the tracks as well. I quite enjoy learning a new track and did Mallory on that basis with Goldtrack a few weeks ago. Bikers love it because of Gerards.

I would recommend a visit but at the moment Donington is still my favourite.

There has been a lot of work going on at Mallory so facilties should be getting better but it doesn't really compare to Cadwell, Oulton and Croft or Donnington for that matter. Having said all that it is a great circuit to race on and you can get 3 Caterhams round Gerrards

Did Mallory about 10 years ago at a track day. Everyman race school might be worth a go for Ferrari etc. As decent sraights etc.

Gerrard eats your tyres, the esses good, chalenging, hairpin eats brakes, bend onto straight chalenging off camber(watch wall) plus it drops away. Worth a go to try for unique, and for long bend gerrards (drifting?), and hairpin.

Not same leage as Castle Coome, Brands or Goodwood. Nearby Donington, promamly has Mallorys ingredients and more. Mallory fab bike track.

mallory isnt my favourite, track but its worth doing. although it looks very simple. its actually very difficult to get a lap spot on. for a good time everything has to be perfect.

my fav in order are

1) Cadwell ( 1st race and 1st win)
2) Oulton
3) Donny ( never raced there though)
4) anglesey
5) brands
