Anyone interested in getting some driver training?

I'm not talking about 20 mins with an instructor concentrating on the lines for one track, but a more comprehensive system with defined goals, some theory thrown in etc.

The proposal was put to me and I liked the idea. I've done loads of track days and picked up some useful bits from instructors along the way, but I'd benefit from something a bit more structured whilst still having fun.

Those who complete the academy would get their achievement flagged on their profile

Good idea? Nonsense? Let me know your thoughts.

Yep.. I'd be interested.

Perhaps it'll teach me how not to stuff an Elise into a tyre wall backwards! Glad it wasn't mine

Sounds good. Would this be in our own cars?

Yes, a track day scenario but with a more more structure to it.

Yes Ted, a great idea and I'd be interested too depending on cost. One of my Noble colleagues arranged a comprehensive dat at MIRA in the summer but it was £500 per person which I thought was a little too pricey (ie: equated to two decent track days, although I know I shouldn't look at it like that!).

I always prefer driver instruction over track days, so count me in!

Sounds fun, Ted.

So how many days in the course? Would you get your ARDS licence as part of it?

I could be up for a course sometime next year...I've even been thinking of the Silverstone Race School - but I'm more the size for a GT car than a single seater these days...

Also: if its one's own car...got to think about insurance.

Edited to add: Residential? (If more than one day)

i'd be interested, but there's alot out there so how would a PH one be better?

would it be novice based?

where would it be based?

how many instructors

specialists in FWD/RWD?

standard...this is the racing line
...this is the RIGHT seat position

etc etc

no disrespect here...just asking

and i second the DRIFT section!

Useful feedback thanks. Some good points raised about the format which I'll take up with the organisers.
