So.. I'm about to book my first car track day with javelin at brands hatch (Indy) in January, I'm a fairly well seasoned bike trackdayer.

Should I book for January and take a weather gamble or wait until it's warmed up a bit, it may well be a nice sunny day in january - who knows? It's an open pit lane day - advisable or not for a first time? Have you guys got any pointers for me?

Cheers,

O.K.

Its personal taste to a large degree - what car will you be in as that can make a fair amount of difference - cold wet days in an open car isn't my thing but low grip days can be a lot of fun

I don't personally know Brands so can't comment on how the weather affects it, but January is certainly a gamble weatherwise and if you feel it will affect your enjoyment I would book something later in the year. March is the earliest I book up for.

It's a caterham 7, I don't mind open top motoring in foul weather to be honest.

Graham Hill Bend gets streams across it in the wet, which will seriously slow you down - or throw you off track. Still a terrific circuit, though.

Bound to be colder but probably not that much more likely to be very wet than in the summer!

I'd say book it, can't see a biker being bothered about the weather when you've got a heater and wipers!
