Whilst reading Loot in the bath Ive just decided it might be a good idea to buy something like a mk2 Golf 16v,remove un wanted trim, seats etc to lighten it and use it for track day fun only.
I know it would have to be road worthy and have a current MOT but the question is- would I have to Tax it? as I could trailer it to the track.

Never had anyone look at my tax disc, but it will depend on the organiser - i.e. if the day is for road cars then your car needs to be a road car. Guess is current MOT should be fine as long as you're not running it on slicks!

Word of warning... if you don't tax it, you MUST fill in a SORN (statutory Off Road Notice) for the DVLA - EVERY YEAR... otherwise they try and fine you £1000...
