As the title really, has anyone had any experience of these tyres, and would they be legal for road use in the uk?

They look like a great road to track tyre, and at less than 600 pounds a set plus postage seems like a steel, considering Toya 888 are over 800 for my car, and the Mich pilot cup sports are over 1000.
Will only be used for dry weather track and road, very tempted to take a punt if they are legal.

Any ideas. http://www.nittotire.com/

TIA

Can you get the in the UK?

If not, then that £600 could quickly become £1000 when you add in £100-£200 delivery, 20% vat, 12% duty, random customs charges.

Not tried to source in the UK yet, but have a sister in the states who could order them and then send on to me as a gift, which then would not carry any duty, so only postage and I was quoted 140 dollars door to door, so delivered for 750 incl not bad. at all.
Going to make some calls to see if I can find a supplier in the uk, just wanted to know if anyone had any experience with them, and if they were worth the homework.

No E mark would be the killer with the rozzers/vosa if they stop you, or indeed real issues with the rozzers & your insurer in a spank I'd say, spank the car & no insurance payout & prosecution for non road legal tyres wouldnt be fun.

I shouldnt imagine the Germanic 5-0 would be too happy with 'em on 'ring on tf either, they are pretty hot about that shizzle.

From the reviews, they are a great tyre, and I'd have some if they were available over here.

Gifts over £40 are subject to VAT, and anything over £135 is subject to both VAT & duty. Last time I looked tyres attracted about 5% duty, so your total vat/duty would be no more than 25% of the 'declared' value. So if you declare a £500 value plus £140 posting (£640) - you'd be looking at a vat/duty bill of £160 plus customs and PO handling fees.

After a little more investigation based on declared value of $700 + 25% duty/tax converted to £s is 560 so with post would be
£700 door to door not to bad.

I have also found this site, http://www.alibaba.com/. then use this link, http://www.alibaba.com/product-free/124962833/Nitt... that offers the tyre in bulk, min 50, at a cost of $90 per tyre £60,
that's £450 a set of 4 delivered , at that price I would have 2 sets.

Group buy needed

Maybe not, just looked further and it's some guy sitting in Jakarta , prob never see the tyres or you money.
