aren't gold track a POSH one, ferrari's astons etc charging lots for sensible low volume?
havn't used them , but EZT are best i've used over the years. a'ways seem to have a problem of somekind when using others nowadays so generally stick to EZ.
ps not related or part of EZ!
Goldtrack aren't "posh". You're possibly thinking of RMA Paddock Club - it's not posh though - you just need some cash to play.
possibly the paddock club...
but £199 EZ Silverstone GP
vs £329 goldtrack Silverstone GP
you do the maths. its quite a mark up. this can be affected by which day (weekend is more expensive), noise levels (loud + more) or if a testing day (very expensive/no noise limit for professionals working on serious metal)and numbers etc so if GT are running 50% less cars then it becomes more sensible.but on a GP circuit 60 cars or so isn't a prob and the minimum economically.
GP circuits are longer needing more marshals facilities etc.
if your happy with GT fine use them. they'd have to be MUCH better for me to use them.
in GT defence, aug is a great time of year - only two weeks after Mr shuey and his friends were running their trackday!
£199 for a GP track tho, got to be a bargain!
(time of year is also a factor for weather, rain stops play?)
not meaning to Pass anyone off here, just saying...

I think they all make an effort and do a good job, but I find you pay for track time and space on the track and in the end it comes close to the same cost per mile.
20 minute sessions get you about 2hours to 2 hours 40 minutes on the track, 30 minute sessions get you on average 3.5 hours.
I did a BHP track day at Castle Combe last month, which looked pricey up front at £240 but it went to open pit lane and I got 200 track miles in!!!! and left with another 40 minutes of track time remaining Had to have the discs and pads changed after!
Other points to note:
Is your car up to more than 20 minute sessions, brakes etc..?
How much experience have you got?
Are you comfortable with a more populated track where you have to keep letting stuff through?
Is your car well proven on the track where you can maintain the speed of the relevant group?
The more in a group the higher chance of a muppet coming off and ending the session.
Having a chat and time for tea is also part of the day.
Check out the cars also that book regularly and match accordingly. I track a Cerbera and a 67 E-type, the Cerb will be fine in any company but the E-type needs both room and a more relative pace.
EZT did a great job at balancing out the cars at Brands GP circuit week before last, I took the E-Type and had one of the best track days for a long time.
You'll enjoy either.
