There are 2 options for me:

A public weekend in August
A track day (with easytrack.co.uk) in November

I've heard the 'ring can get misty in November which is my main concern.

I will be a ring newbie so won't be pushing it anyway (well not on the 1st day ). I have only done about 6-7 track days as well so I'm just a novice.

The easytrack option (2 days) is limited to 69 people on the track and no bikes. Will this be less than on a public day?

I can also get instruction on the easytrack day? Can you get this on a public day?

I guess another advantage is everyone will be English speaking on the easytrack day which would be better for a first timer as my german is

Do you think the 'ring taxis' will still be opeon a non-public day?

I'm leaning towards the easytrack day in November? Anyone been around this time?

take the WRX and it doesn't matter!

i'm on the EZT days so i'm biased, but...

EZT are brill. done the ring with them a couple of times and no dramas.

plenty of people who have done the ring and many who havn't.

instructors booked are the top local instructors...worth their weight in gold!!!

no ring taxis

limited numbers...doubt there will be more than 25 out at a time generally, one every two miles or so!!!

i've been in may and had...

rain
torntial rain
fog
sunshine
hail
sunshine again

...ALL ON TH SAME LAP! lapofthegodsstuff1

better of with EZT, you won't get a german golf diesel stealing your apex on a blind corner at 60mph

oh yes...and lots of beer and yarns in the evening!

BTW the autobahn trip down is half the fun

book it soon tho...its just about full (MANY non web bookings!

Have a look on Ben Lovejoy's 'ringers site and get in touch with the lads there. There are plenty of us locals and regualrs there who can help you out.

The weather is unpredictable and quite often much different on the 'ring compared with the surrounding countryside.

The 'ring is so big that it an be raining or snowing at one end and sunny at the other.

Go on the public day! I for one learnt that way, and it never did me any harm. Once your there look for UK cars (the number plates are a great give away!) And ask for a passenger lap. You may get the odd grumpy person, or if it is a popular car, they may have loads already. But it is the best way to get a good feal for the place.

Also ask if you can follow someone. As long as if you feel they are pushing you too much you step back (no peer presure to go to fast) then you will be able to have some good laps.

The Easytrack day will be good, but its an expensive way to find you dont like the place

There are plenty of us regulars about on any weekend. Have a look at Ben Lovejoy's site and post on the 'ringers' board, and I'll guarantee that you will get plenty of offers for some passenger laps.

The weather is iffy in the Eifel. It really doesn't matter when you go, it can vary quite a bit. I only live an hour away and it can be sunny and mild here and pissing down there, or vice versa!

Sorry for that double post. I just got back from the 'ring and that was up on my screen. I figured the other one hadn't gone through...

everyone. It's looking like the easytrack day. Would be taking both the WRX and the VX220 so hopefully easytrack will let me swap between them depending on weather!
