Nurburgring 2024

I'm heading down this weekend for the first time ever, we're landing in Dunkirk, any recommendations for run/scenic routes down from there?
Plan was to stick the sat nav on and avoid motorways/tolls and see where it takes us through the countryside.
Any routes down from Dunkirk recommended by veterans?

I’m assuming you’re aware the circuit is open Friday evening for 2.5hrsPlan was to stick the sat nav on and avoid motorways/tolls and see where it takes us through the countryside.

I'd say you might as well just get to Malmedy asap by the e40 or 42 as there's almost no way to get through to there in an interesting way imo... then after that there's a variety of routes you can go from Spa down to the ring. Usually I think I turn off just before Trier towards Hillesheim and follow that road in. The road to Cochem is well worth taking as a side trip as well if you're in the area.Plan was to stick the sat nav on and avoid motorways/tolls and see where it takes us through the countryside.

If you have time, set your via point to La Roche-en-Ardenne, Belgium, this will take you down the E42 as far as Namur, and then you get a very scenic route the rest of the wayPlan was to stick the sat nav on and avoid motorways/tolls and see where it takes us through the countryside.

It appears that part of the N888 is still closed, so Googlemaps is showing turning off the N4 at the N89, which not ideal, but not a disaster either

We always get off the motorway , e40 and e 42 , I’m not sure if they’re correct ones , and head for eupen and onto monchau , it’s the most pleasant way we’ve found with some great bits of road and a couple of nice towns .
Motorway all the way there is quicker but mind numbing .
Same.Motorway all the way there is quicker but mind numbing .
This is what I posted on the poster's other thread...
Avoid the tolls by all means, but if you try the avoid motorways option then you'll spend twice as long getting across Belgium and won't see anything interesting anyway.
Don't forget that the usual Brussels Friday getaway starts at about 11am, so expect to be in jams if you use the Ring road around Brussels.
Once you're past Liege, then you have a choice of routes, but we usually either go E40 to Liege >E42 to Eupen > N67 to Monschau > B258 to Schleiden > Blankenheim > Müsch > Barweiler > Nurburg.

While you wont encounter anything spectacular along the way, I find it relaxing and therapeutic to see some countryside and small villages along the way.Motorway all the way there is quicker but mind numbing .
