Top tip: drive the passes when they are closed

The Susten may be closed but Marcus and I went almost to the top on Saturday, driving up from the Innertkirchen side not the Wassen side. And it was almost deserted. Brilliant.

I have no shame in admitting that I just giggled and laughed for a large part of yesterday afternoon.

There will always be a space in my memory for the moment of blasting past a Prius and a comment from Mr D..."hmm, I think he had sporty alloys on that Prius". Moments that good really ought to be illegal

Yeah.. this is a great tip..

We went up the Grimsel Pass the other day, where we managed to get to the Grimsel Hospice.. The road was technically closed at that point, although the barrier was lifted to allow workmen thru..

The road was completely empty for the last 10 miles atleast..
