The sun is out on Saturday, so planning for a bit of a run. Has anyone headed north to the Black forest before? - from Google maps there look to be some nice roads up there…

JMGS4 is your best man to give details on the area. Maybe worthwhile dropping him a PM. Unfortunately I am busy this Weekend, otherwise I would have joined you.

Enjoy!

Any of the river valleys running north south towards the Rhine from the St Blasien area are rewarding drives especially the Albtal and the Wehratal
BUT
Saturday and Sunday are going to be very warm so expect a LOT of bikers and as it's the first real biking weekend, weatherwise, expect some nasty surprises when cornering (bikes on wrong side, leaning into you etc.... so either go very early (7am) or be prepared!!!!
Can't come myself as it's the first real rugby weekend, but I may hoon very early on Sundaymorning.

I'll check those places out. Thinking of leaving Zurich around 6 - hope those bikers - or day trippers - don't get up so early.

I'm looking forward to find something approximating a 'flowing' english style B road.

Roll on the good driving weather...

If my new cups had have arrived, I'd have been very tempted to join you, but I don't really want to test the limits of my winter tyres in the (forecasted) 22 degrees tomorrow.

Advise the Steinatal then between Bonndorf and Unterlauchringen, get there early as les flics occasionally set up "payment areas". Also good stops to "advise" bikers....
ALSO be aware of "plain wrapper" police bikers usually beemers, they have cameras on board, so if you've a very quick biker comes up behind you, just be the gentleman and wave him past. If he sticks behind you be aware.

Thanks for the heads-up. Good to know what to look out for! If I wasn't so used to driving in Switzerland then I'd be put off about this sneaky use of speed cameras... but as I am, is seems there is at least a sporting chance to have some fun... smile

It had 50km on it when I took it out and it isn't a demonstrator, so I can't imagine them letting me have it for the day. They might let me have the yellow demonstrator with the adverts on it though...

Decided to wait for the spider to be released though. Not going to go down the 430 spider route in the meantime either an non-16m is going to feel like a step down from the 458.

You'll be lucky to get a spider before summer 2013 or spring 2014. Personally couldn't wait that long! smile

The nice man at the dealership seemed to think that he'd be able to get one by next summer. You should know their sourcing abilities by now - He was able to get me in the coupe faster than most Renault dealers can get you in a Megane.

At the end of the day there's nothing wrong with the Turbo. It's not as if I don't actually have a car.

The yellow demo car was sitting there today - popped by to arrange my trip to Maranello and also saw the new Granturismo MC Stradale

So one too many whiskys in Odeon on Friday night put an end to the early start drink -traffic wasn't too bad later on - The L159 to Bonndorf is a really good road, is a bit dusty to start with.- passed a Cayman followed by an Elise making good progress in the early afternoon there - any one here? 317 going over the Feldberg followed by the 315 is good also. Might try the same again this Sat..

@DJC - I'd be interested to see that Artega in the metal
