There are a number of runs to our current country of choice being made by groups of UK enthusiasts and their car clubs, not to mention companies that organise tours to the alps like Petrolhead Nirvana (which I shouldn't mention because I'm a director, but which I can mention because we're PH's official tour partners!)

Do any of you ever tag along on these - even just for a day?

Or if not, do you think it might be a nice idea?

Or have you tried it and it doesn't work for some reason?

I haven't driven in Europe before, but it is something I intend to do a bit later this year.

The option of tagging along for a day or so without getting fully involved into the 'tour' would be good - the practicalities of doing so may be a little more complicated.

I'd certainly like a few more runs over the passes this summer and doing it with others is always more fun than going solo, so to speak smile

Interesting Bruce- I emailed Petrolhead Nirvana a while back enquiring about joining in with a runout around Switzerland, but never heard anything back! I think it would be a great idea if this sort of thing were possible. Of course, we can always arrange to accidentally meet up in the same location and make independent decisions to drive the same route wink

Apologies for that... I will admonish where appropriate!

As there seems to be some interest, I will take this a bit further. It's always nice to have 'locals' along - I've done it on Atom tours of Europe a couple of times and it works very well.

Our next one is in early September (http://www.fb5k.com/tours/2010/alpine_tour.php), and Circuit Days one is in the middle of September (http://www.circuit-days.co.uk/alpine_adventure.asp#col2).

Others no doubt will be coming too...

Interested, too, Bruce :-))
We'll join the Eurohoon in Germany, tour Switzerland,Austria,Dolomites and theri relevant passes beginning of September.
We are alway open to ideas :-))
Petrolhead Nirvana: I love the norvegian tour, but the distance to cover to go-up there is a bit much :-(
See you.
