Hello there smile

I could potentially be interviewing for a role down in southern Switzerland, and was wondering all the usual things about what it's like, living costs etc etc.

The role is for a large Swiss company (funnily enough), in Giubiaso near Bellinzona. Looking on the t'internet it all looks very lovely, but was wondering if anyone had any experience of the area etc and so on.

Thanks in advance.

Hallo,
the region is quite nice, but I doubt many people speak English there, except specialised, international companies. There might be not sooo many around. Winter could be not so nice, too.
Have a look. If you have no family, it might be OK, depending on package.
Good luck.

Save any interesting car related questions for here though. The anti car party is strongly represented on there.

True... I've pretty much given up on them there! Talk about whining...

I bought a couple of good books about moving to Switzerland on Amazon...

This one was generic:

The other one was Zurich specific so not relevant for you.

Do you speak any other languages? I guess Italian might be useful there. If not, Michel Thomas does brilliant audio courses.

To answer your question about living costs, you pay less tax but the cost of living is slightly higher (even compared to London), so it's a zero sum gain I think.

The roads are nice in CH though! and you'll be near Italy where cars are a religion!
