I'm currently visiting Corsica and it is absolute heaven if you like twisties.

Here's a snapshot of the locality near to me. see if you can spot a road without at least 20 hairpins on it!

I will be organising a trip here next year if anyone fancies it...

Interesting biggrin We looked at going to Corsica about a month ago with the car, but decided the weather wasn't up to it and did some touring/sightseeing in Tuscany instead.

So would definitely be interested to hear details of your plans...

Yes, but nobody pays any attention unless the WRC is in town.

We pretty much drove round the island in a rented clio oil burner.

I have the following observations;

1) You will average less than 50kph in a crappy rental hatchback
2) Pressing on, the brakes will get very grumbly down the hills
3) The locals have evolved radar and will overtake into blind corners. All of them. All the time.
4) If I'd taken a decent car, it would have been sublime driving country.
5) Petrol stations are few, and self service with credit cards after about 8....

One other thing... no 98 octane on the entire island.

how is the tarmac, my father used to "devore" a set of rear tyres on his Fiat-Abarths on this island, he liked it, but preferred Sardinia

Enjoy your stay :-)
