FAO AndrewD...Lamborghini Murciélago LP 670-4 SV
Discussion
One of the 1st cars to be detailed as part of the new http://www.swizolpflegecenter.ch/ My heartfelt thanks to AndrewD for allowing us to work on his beautiful car and also my thanks to Lamborghini St.Gallen for looking after us so well.
OK the car was subject to a full Swissvax/Swizol detail and also some paint correction was carried out to the bonnet/wings as you will see why.
The car was washed for us already by Lamborghini so the 1st stage for us was to take some before pictures.
Now you can see why we needed to do some extensive work on the bonnet, some more pictures to make you squirm.
The best/worst..
After washing the 1st stage of the process is to prepare the car using paint rubber to remove bonded contaminants such as bugs, tar, fallout and overspray to leave a silky smooth surface.
Following this treatment over the whole car it was time to work on the bonnet. To remove these marks I initially tried a gentle polish but had to change to a more aggressive polish to make progress via a Dual Action Polisher (DA)
Work in progress
A lot better
The next stage is the application of a pre wax cleanser/cleaner fluid to make sure the painted surface is squeaky clean and ready for the wax. Generally this is the longest stage of the process and makes the biggest difference to the cars appearance. We used Swissvax/Swizol Cleaner fluid.
For the matt painted areas we used the new Opaque range of products as follows
Once all the surfaces had been pre wax cleansed it was time for the wax. On this car we used Crystal Rock, applied and removed after 10mins. Wheels were clayed, cleansed and waxed with Autobahn wheel wax.
Tyres were dressed with Pneu, glass cleaned with Crystal, and it was time to take some after shots. Please enjoy.
Thankyou to Andrew for the booking and the opportunity. More to follow....
Best wishes
Tim

Hi Tim
Sorry for the delayed reply - I've been on my travels again this week.
Anyway, thanks again to you and Benjamin for doing such a stunning job on the car - that horrible "factory installed" polish swirling is now gone and the car looked amazing. I was impressed by your knowledge and attention to detail and I will be giving the guys a call soon to get some Swissvax products for my own cleaning over the next few months until the car is ready for its next detail again.
The smoothness of the paintwork is great, I could keep running my hands over it all day, unfortunately I think this would make it dirty all over again
I can't wait to get it back, Lambo St Gallen are bringing it home soon on the covered trailer as the roads are now covered in snow and salt/grit.
Cheers
Andrew

Nice work!
I bought some Swissol, as it used to be known, '911' wax in 2002 and still love using the Cleaner Fluid.
I've not heard of the Opaque stuff but would like to hear from somone who has used the Gloss Corrector (Matt) on an ever so shiny Porsche) steering wheel with satisfactory results?
P.S. It continues to amaze me that there doesn't appear to be a detailing scene out here in CH.
There are plenty of nice cars, and plenty of people with money but perhaps it's just that with Swiss labour rates being what they are, there aren't that many people who can afford to pay someone to do it on a regular basis, let alone get someone to come over from the UK to do it for them as appears to have been the case here!

I am impressed that in the wash pic of yours you have 2 buckets, a wash mitt and the V sign
Again, thanks for the opportunity and look forward to seeing you both again sometime...

I'm not sure that there is such a great degree of care. A good friend of mine watched someone put their Veyron through the automated wash at the local petrol station (Geneva). I think my neighbours think I'm a bit bizarre washing the cars by hand.P.S. It continues to amaze me that there doesn't appear to be a detailing scene out here in CH.
