Swiss meet/hoon/whatever you want to call it.
Discussion
The idea of a nice drive/meet has been mooted occasionally for the past few months and I think it is time to do something about it. I do not know exactly where to find the best driving roads but I can hazard a bloody good guess (my normal stomping ground is the Sued-Schwarzwald).
I would be more than willing to try and put together a day of driving (hopefully with somewhere to stop for lunch and petrol) if there is the interest.

I might join the meet/hoon as well, depending on weather and how I'm available with my south of france trip coming up. Did this last year a couple of times and it was good fun.
I know most of the southern black forest (do most of my driving there), but have also been driving a lot in the Swiss alps lately (mainly in the Engadin, to Stelvio and some alpine passes around central Switzerland, namely Furka and Grimsel).
I'd be glad to help if it is needed.

If you guys looked you'd have seen I was planning a Black Forest Hoon on 26/27th September?
1) Do you guys want this or
2) shall I cancel for your planning or
3) shall we do both?
Let me know soon as I'm off to SoCal for 14 days soon...

Would it be possible to postpone the dates 26.-27.9. as we got another meeting--I just discovered with my old AMG-pals: extraordinary AGM,small hoon, AND a JU52 flight over
the alps....

Rainer

I'll start looking into routes over the next couple of days. Are there any preferences as to where in Switzerland the meet should take place?
If it's before end-October, the Grimsel/Susten pass would be a good place.just had a look for a very central meeting-point with most of the passes within easy
reach, as far as I know the hotels do road-books or will gladly give you ideas for
day-trips.....

As for the weather, just let's pray ;-)
IF you want to go more to the east, towards Graubuenden, I could gladly help you, too:
lots of interesting roads :-)) Julierpass,Lenzerheide,Bernina, even Austria or South
Tirol is not far.........
Regards
Rainer
Thank you so far for the ideas. I have a busy day today but will start having a detaied look at possiblities tomorrow.
I was thinking about organinsing the hoon for the second half of August. I would be more than happy if the Black Forest meet was also still going ahead. Not meaning to tread on toes.

For me, it would have to be a weekend and the earliest one is, unfortunately, the 12/13 September. I have that 'friends / family coming to visit in the summer' thing every weekend before that.
I've just heard that my long-awaited arrival left Hethel in the last day or so I should be able to get the running-in over with by September and use the opportunity to stretch its legs.

Just avoid the Stelvio (Stilfzerjoch) on the weekend, it's murder!Absolutely right you are :-))) Did the Fluela this afternoon, lots of roadworks, humps, bumps
unsettling your car, bikers, even a beautiful Lancia Integrale, yellow from Munich,at very
slow speed :-(( pity for THAT car,
then some very smooth surfaces, BUT for sure this pass is for the moment not very high
on my list :-( that's why I took the Vereina-railway-tunnel back home ;-)
Regards and sorry about my mix-up of dates :-((
