Evening all

Looking at a city break to Geneva, can anyone recommend a decent hotel which won't costs the earth?

Thanks

May be worth picking up a car at the airport and looking in neighbouring France (the border runs down the middle of the runway, I believe). A car could be useful anyway for a drive along the Lake to some pretty towns such as Morges and Nyon, or to Vufflens le Chateau (village where I believe Mr Schumacher lives). For driving head to Gex and the Col de la Faucille - both a stone's throw from Geneva - bag a few glorious hairpins and see some sensational views across Geneva and the Lake to the high Alps.

I'm pretty sure Schumacher lives in the wonderfully named Gland...

Hi

My old man came to visit me recently and stayed at Hotel Drake & Longchamp in Geneva. It's a comfortable place not much of a walk into town and reasonably price....

And Schumacher does still live in Gland, I live about 5 minutes from his house and saw him recently. He parked up his black Maserati next to mine as he popped to the cash point, of all places... I guess squillionaires still need cash...

Indeed he does. Lives next door to my old man. His office is in Gland too.

Regards hotels, stay anywhere between geneva and Lausanne and hire a car. Drive round a bit and enjoy the region.

Isn't MS's house the largest private residence in switzerland? so next door is all relative lol
