Yes, for Swiss standards its a big meet, but usually it rains during that meeting....;-( Plenty of hotels around, but could be difficult to find something now. Check the tourist office hear:

May pass round during the meet as I live a couple of kms from Morges.

For the ice cream I think you could be talking about the small stand open during the summer along a stream and the big car park....
