Care homes in Switzerland ?
Discussion
Possibly the most obscure topic of the day.
My wifes retired uncle has lived in Switzerland for 20+ years.
Now that he's retired he will apparently only get his pension if he stays in Switzerland. However, he want's to come to the UK and expects my MIL to support him (he is her brother in law via marriage, not blood brother).
Not sure how true the pension info is because the story changes.
Now, he was treated for depression about a year ago and her family is looking for a care home for him.
Most of the information is in German making it difficult for us to use the web. Is there anyone who knows anything about them or that could put us in touch with someone who does ?
His mother (wifes grandmother) lives here with my MIL (ie her daughter in law).
She's getting on now and can't cope with the worry, not withstanding the fact that my mother in law doesn't want him living at her house in any case.
Any information gratefully received.
Cheers

Hallo ,
This is a tricky business :-(, but if you ask or visit the Swiss Embassy in London, they might offer you some help, i.e. translation etc.
I did not know that you cannot take your Swiss pension abroad, I thought
you could do that more or less within the EC.
You might also have a look here:
