Hi,

I'm planning a trip to Switzerland next month and when I was there last, I used Google Maps app on my phone and found it very reliable as to knowing which passes were closed and which were open.

I will be bringing a paper map but could anybody update me to the reliability of TomTom HD traffic? Is that equally as good for knowing which passes are closed due to weather?

I'm doing some route planning here in the U.K. And because I am not near the destination, it isn't getting a traffic feed and therefore suggesting I go over roads that I know to be closed.

I could use Google Maps again however I prefer the interface of TomTom.

Many thanks.

Hi, i live in CH so had this issue before

Next month may be a bit early for any of the passes - apart from the lower ones. Most would be closed until Late April.

Best way to check is here https://www.alpen-paesse.ch/en/

Many thanks for your help.

I've crossed out the highest passes and my route now has Simpson Pass, Maloja pass, Bernina pass and Julier pass as I believe these to be all open.

Thanks again.
