It's painful to watch all these flash cars going through machine washes in Zurich, and I certainly wouldn't take my pride and joy through one!

The problem is finding somewhere decent to hand wash the car (and detail from time to time).

I headed to Swissvax once and left rapidly after I was told a full polish and detail would be about Fr 2000!

Anyone know of a place for regular washing + the odd polish and wax?

There's a guy in Dietikon near Zurich who does a great job (I have seen his work) but he is expensive. He may be the same SwissVax guy your talking about. I also know an ex-neighbour who also details and is a lot cheaper (400 to 500 CHF) but to be honest I would not recommend him as it's not top quality. Don't get me wrong he's OK and will get your engine bay spotless but it's not a real pro-detail job.

Everything service related in CH is expensive so I do it myself (also badly) but I don't have anything exotic yet.

Interestingly I was in my local car wash in exotic Mägenwil and saw a new Hurican, then an SLS, then a F458 all being handwashed badly.

I'm currently doing it badly myself too!

I've tried a work-from-home type of guy too and, as you said about yours, his work is great but not quite pro level.

Shame there aren't any reasonable pro options out there

Hi, I use Oscar in Zug. they have a proper valeting and detailing bay. Think they have a branch in Luzern too

Good blokes, really took care of the 1M when they did it - as a side note my family runs a car bodyshop back home so I am a fussy sod with these things ; )

Looks good JC29, but they run the car through the machine as part of the process?

Hi sorry about the late reply - they do a full hand wash service. The 'wash road' thing is not for the full service.

They also did a great job of removing the little bits of tyre rubber from mine after a track day

Cheers

Depends on what you want - a hand wash and clean on the inside was 100 CHF - but you can buy a chit for 10 washes for 700 bucks.

Other stuff is more money but never felt the need to have it done. The hand wash was through enough.
