My track day itch has got worse over the past couple of years I've been here and soon it'll have to be scratched. I have moderate track day experience in the past from marque specific track days back home where there was good quality instructors available and people behaved very well on the track. Here I haven't joined the brand club so I don't know what they offer.

Looking at the videos from open days at Dijon Prenois doesn't really increase my confidence in trying out one of those.

So any suggestions for gentleman track day / DE events would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Nice car albeit a bit on the heavy side...
Have you tried contacting on of the Porsche Clubs in CH? Here is the current list pulled from the Porsche Federation site. The Federation regroups all the local clubs and is the official voice to and from the Porsche Factory: http://cms.porsche-clubs.com/PorscheClubs/pc_vspc/...

You can also check out the FB page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Porsche-Sports-Cup-...

Tell me about it. I had a 964 C2 before this and I know this one is really heavy. But nevertheless it needs some track miles.

Thanks. I haven't contacted any of them yet, but it might be the best way forward. Though, I'd be happy to hear about other alternatives as well.

I can recommend two Porsche Club events which I have done for the past few years. Both are at Dijon. The March event, organised by PC Basel, has been quite sparsely attended this past couple of years as there was a competing event at Paul Ricard. This year there were only 15 cars - you basically had the track to yourself. The October event. organised by PC Geneva has more cars but being late in the season is still not too busy. The standard of driving has been sensible and good with some impressive cars turning out (GT1, RSR's). PC Zurich does an event there in August which is also worth attending. I suggest you check out the club websites for more details. I will be at this year's PCGE event in a couple of week's time. Maybe see you there.

There's only one answer. Porsche Cup Schweiz. It's actually not just for racing cars and not just for Porsches. You get two days where you can drive pretty much whatever. (I've seen Ferraris, Lambos, racing Megane, NSX, Mini Cooper etc). They mostly do Italy and France. I've been doing it for 3 years now. You can pick and chose which events to go to. There are usually 80-120 cars but usually you get groups of 25-30 cars at any one time.
