Currently here on business and, somehow, appear to have a day free tomorrow, anyone know the area and what to do? It is spectacularly pretty and full of nice cars and bikes btw

Vevey's not too far from me. Depends how far you want to drive, Grimsel, Furka and Susten passes are good (near Interlaken, just over an hour drive from Vevey I think).

If you don't want to go that far, head over to Chateau D'Oex and Gstaad, nice road and will be done in a couple hours.

Edit: being PH I'm assuming you're asking where to go for a nice drive

nip into montreux, take lake ferry ride...seeing mountains from centre of lake is thoroughly enjoyable, or hire car and drive into mountains for a good lunch. verbier's 1hr away, chamonix 1hr20mins.

...you'll appreciate diesel's torque in the mountains.

Been to Vevey a few times over the years, quiet and relaxed.

The centre of town is the market square/car park: streetview

A few cafe on Quai Perdonnet, the lake front road: more streetview

chateau-de-chillon is worth a visit

idea for a little drive ...
