Blackforest drive 15th September 2012
Discussion
If you are interested in going for a drive in the Blackforest this Saturday (15th) please add your name to the list.
I suggest we meet up at the Würenlos service station on the A1 motorway heading from Zurich to Bern/Basel. Say at 8:30? We could then drive together to meet up with Phil.

Just a warning to everyone if travelling in the southern Black Forest this weekend. There will be a LARGE police presence.
Last weekend a bunch of french bikers were being idioticly dangerous and some chappy decided to film them to report them. They stopped him, dragged him out of his car, beat him badly and stole his camera and his phone, and this was on a main road (the B317)!. The police are looking for them, so are bound to be present on bikes and cars over the weekend...
PS DON'T publish routes etc here...... do it the usual way!!!
ENJOY, be safe, Sorry I can't come I'm in Vienna this weekend...

Has this been in the news? Any link (doesn't matter if it's German)?
That more or less answers my thought if I should put on fresh tyres or not (the current rears are at the markers)...
BTW: Just to clarify - don't count on me just yet. I'm still unaware what the exact plans are for our weekend in Simonswald. We'll be meeting up with friends from Frankfurt there. There's a chance we'll take them for a drive with us - but no time schedule yet and it's not definite. I'll keep you guys posted.
Sadly I'm not able to make it either- Car is still poorly with a coolant leak. The OPC in Lörrach are fully booked until 24th October (!) and so it's booked in to ASAG in Basel, but not for another 2 weeks. This is the problem if you have a rarish car it seems. Oh to have a range of excellent independent garages a la UK!
Enjoy the drive (if you actually make it out!)- have fun, stay safe
